Description

This data archive contains experimental datasets from brittle creep deformation experiments performed on pre-faulted Bentheim sandstone cylinders (50 mm in diameter and 100 mm in length) under triaxial loading. The experiments were conducted at a constant confining pressure of 35 MPa and a differential stress of approximately 70.7 MPa. Stepwise increases in pore pressure triggered four spontaneous, self-arresting slip events during constant pore-pressure plateaus of 5, 7.5, 8, and 8.5 MPa, hereafter referred to as Events #1 – #4, respectively. The archived datasets include synchronized mechanical, hydraulic, and acoustic emission (AE) measurements. All data are provided in MATLAB (.mat) format and can be loaded using MATLAB. Detailed descriptions of all variables, units, and file organization are provided in the accompanying README document.
