A harmonized individual-level dataset of disability-disaggregated monetary poverty and cash-transfer indicators for Colombia and Chile, 2015–2025
Description
This article describes a harmonized, individual-level dataset of disability-disaggregated monetary poverty and cash-transfer indicators for Colombia and Chile covering 2015–2025. The dataset is built from two nationally representative, repeated cross-sectional household surveys: Chile's Encuesta de Caracterización Socioeconómica Nacional (CASEN) and Colombia's Encuesta Nacional de Calidad de Vida (ECV). Functional difficulty is classified from the Washington Group Short Set (WGSS) into three severity levels, and a household-level indicator flags households containing at least one member with severe functional difficulty. For every individual–year record the dataset provides monetary poverty status computed under the Foster–Greer–Thorbecke class (FGT0, FGT1, FGT2) against two families of thresholds — the international PPP lines ($2.15 and $3.65 per day) and each country's official national poverty and extreme-poverty lines — each evaluated under two income concepts that respectively include and exclude reported cash transfers. Additional fields include PPP-adjusted per-capita transfer aggregates by programme category, region identifiers, official expansion factors, year-specific propensity scores, and common-support flags. Accompanying Stata code reproduces every derived variable and the matched, doubly robust difference-in-differences structures. The dataset supports reuse for cross-country disability poverty measurement, social-protection incidence accounting, and methodological replication.
