Financial Literacy Case-Task Competency Study, Ukraine, 10th-Grade Students, 2024
Description
This dataset reports results of a PISA-style, 21-case-task assessment of the "Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy" competency among Ukrainian 10th-grade students, conducted shortly before the subject became mandatory nationwide in September 2025. VERSION 2 REVISION: this version is rebuilt from the full primary research report (previously only secondary press coverage of an NBU press release was available) and corrects two material gaps: (1) the category breakdown now includes all 4 content categories defined by the study, including "Financial Landscape" (11.1% correct) which was omitted from secondary press coverage and is in fact the weakest category, well below the previously known "Planning and Financial Management" (40.8%); (2) the regional breakdown now covers all 19 oblasts plus Kyiv city (V1 covered only the 6 best/worst-performing regions disclosed in press coverage). The dataset supports research establishing a pre-implementation baseline for the new mandatory school subject, against which a planned second wave of testing (NBU, 2027) can measure the subject's effectiveness. FILE STRUCTURE - teens2024_competency_study.xlsx - 00_Dictionary: defines every column across all three data sheets, including what changed in V2 - Overall_Categories: 16 observations (overall score, 4 content categories, 4 skill types, 2 single items, 1 attitude item, 3 distribution extremes) - Regional_Breakdown: 20 observations (all 19 oblasts + Kyiv city) - Gender_Settlement: 8 observations (performance by gender/settlement plus exact sample composition) - overall_categories.csv, regional_breakdown.csv, gender_settlement.csv - each corresponding Data sheet above in plain CSV (UTF-8 with BOM) - README.txt - this file CONTACT INFORMATION Illia Kyselov, PhD in Law Associate Professor, Department of Law, Bohdan Khmelnytsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University, Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine CMSA (R), FPWMP (R), and BIDA (R) (Corporate Finance Institute) Email: law.reserch@gmail.com The author is open to collaboration on Scopus-indexed publications and further research using Ukrainian economic and financial statistics.
