Description

COMAP3/comapRid MATLAB toolbox (general scripts, functions, user's guide and tutorial data). Version 3 (2025) . Compared to Version 1, described in Teza G., Pesci A., 2019. “Evaluation of the Temperature Pattern of a Complex Body from Thermal Imaging and 3D Information: A Method and Its MATLAB Implementation.” Infrared Phys. Technol. 96: 228-237, doi 10.1016/j.infrared.2018.11.029, Version 3 features several improvements for texture mapping any JPEG or TIFF image onto a point cloud, for example to enrich a 3D model with information from historical images (new general script: comapRid), including a quality evaluation of the result. Regarding temperature correction of a thermal JPEG image, the new version does not contain any significant changes. Compared to Version 2 (July 2025), in Version 3 some errors related to comapRid are fixed and, in addition, new tutorial data specific for comapRid are provided. An example of application of Version 3 for cultural heritage preservation purposes is shown in Pesci A., Teza G., Rossetti A., Bondanelli M., 2025.
