Description

This dataset provides the numerical simulation data supporting the manuscript entitled "High-fidelity nonlinear dynamic modeling and hierarchical controller design for riser recoil". The data were generated from a high-fidelity nonlinear dynamic model of a marine riser with a split tensioner system. The model considers the coupling between the direct-acting tensioner (DAT) and the crown-mounted compensator (CMC), gas compressibility in accumulators, piston friction loss, pressure loss, mud discharge friction, and the variable-wall-thickness characteristics of the riser. The dataset includes the time-series data used to generate the figures in the manuscript, including riser displacement, riser velocity, top tension, DAT active tension, tension tracking error, valve opening, valve-opening increment, spring elongation, and disturbance observation results. Comparative data among different models and control strategies are also provided, including 3-DOF and 4-DOF model comparisons, no-control cases, LESO-SMC, MRASMC, and the proposed hierarchical controller for riser recoil suppression. The "Figure_data" folder contains CSV files corresponding to the figures in the manuscript. Each CSV file includes the numerical data required to reproduce the corresponding figure. The file "Simulation_parameters.xlsx" provides the main parameters used in the numerical simulations. These data can be used to reproduce the main simulation figures, verify the dynamic response of the riser recoil model, and compare the recoil suppression performance and tension-smoothing performance of different control strategies.
