Description

This dataset supports the article “Variation in topsoil organic carbon fractions across land-use types and between karst and non-karst settings.” It contains sample-level data for 469 topsoil samples collected at 0–10 cm depth across Guizhou Province, China. Variables include land-use type, karst setting, SOC, POC, MAOC, and environmental covariates; DOC and DIC were measured for a 215-sample subset. The dataset also includes a global literature compilation of 675 paired POC–MAOC observations from 100 studies.

Files

Steps to reproduce

The dataset consists of four Excel files. Basic Sampling Information.xlsx contains the geographical and field information for 469 sampling sites. experimental data.xlsx contains the measured SOC, POC, MAOC, DOC, DIC, and pH data. guizhou environment data.xlsx contains the soil and environmental variables corresponding to the sampling sites. Global collected data.xlsx contains 675 paired POC–MAOC observations compiled from the published literature. The sampling identifiers are used to match records among the three Guizhou datasets. Detailed analytical procedures are described in the associated article.
