Description

Even though the English legal framework provides for the basis and foundation of addressing consent to the healthcare treatment of minors, there exist significant complexities, challenges, and ambiguities in reconciling parental responsibilities for the best interest of the child. This study aims to illustrate that although parental consent is a fundamental aspect of making healthcare decisions for children, there is a requirement for more explicit guidelines and improved practices to ensure that medical professionals can effectively fulfil their responsibilities while protecting the independence and well-being of underage patients.
