Description
This repository includes annual maximum reservoir inflow records for Shimen, Feicui, Zengwen and Wushantou Reservoirs in Taiwan for the period 2000-2025, together with the QGIS and MATLAB scripts used for mapping, data processing, and flood-frequency analysis. The inflow series were compiled from the Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan, and linked to major typhoon events using Central Weather Administration records where available. Each file provides, for each reservoir and year, the annual maximum inflow (m³/s), the date of the maximum event, and the associated typhoon name when identified. The dataset supports uncertainty-aware flood-frequency analysis of annual-maximum inflows, including stationary and non-stationary fits of Gumbel, Log-Pearson Type III, and generalized extreme value models, as well as bootstrap- and simulation-based uncertainty quantification reported in the associated manuscript. No personal or sensitive data are included.

Steps to reproduce
Import the annual maximum inflow CSV file into R, Python or MATLAB. For each reservoir, remove years with zero-coded inflows (treated as missing values) and compute descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, skewness). Fit stationary Gumbel, Log-Pearson Type III (LP3) and generalized extreme value (GEV) distributions to the positive annual maxima using maximum likelihood and L-moments. Compute AICc for each model to obtain small-sample corrected model weights, and derive model-specific and AICc-weighted return levels for 2–120-year return periods. Implement 10,000-replicate nonparametric bootstrap resampling of the annual maxima to obtain percentile uncertainty bands for selected return levels. Optionally, reproduce Mann–Kendall trend tests, Sen’s slope, Pettitt change-point tests and simple linear-location non-stationary models by using calendar year as the time covariate.
