The study included 100 mother-child pairs, in the neonatal period, 3mths, 6mths after delivery by natural means or after cesarean section. A standardized survey was conducted in mothers questionnaire, regarding the risk factors present that may affect the intestinal function of their children. All children were examined, and their anthropometric data were cross-referenced with birth parameters and the postnatal adaptation period. In order to assess intestinal permeability and dysbiosis parameters, concentrations of of zonulin and LPS by immunoenzymatic method and other parameters assessing intestinal permeability.
