Description

We map the state-of-the-science regarding experimental validity threats using a representative sample of 468 recent experimental studies from 258 articles published in top-tier journals in operations management, management, social psychology, and economics. The folder "Datasets" contains the data (in .dta format) that allow to replicate the results reported in the main article: 1) The file "LQZA_data" contains the main data to reproduce tables and figures reported in the main article and in the appendix. 2) The file "LQZA_kappa" allows to replicate the inter-coder agreement calculations. 3) The files "LQZA_simulations_randomization_1", "LQZA_simulations_randomization_5", "LQZA_simulations_randomization_10", and "LQZA_simulations_randomization_5corr" contain the simulated data used for studying the minimum sample size required to avoid failed randomization problems in simple simulated experimental settings. The folder "Code" contains: 1) The Stata file "LQZA_replication.do", which reproduces all tables and figures reported in the article. 2) The Stata file "LQZA_MonteCarlo.do", which contains the code of our Monte Carlo simulations on minimum sample size requirements, as well as the analysis of the simulations' results.
