NRSD Model Dataset
Description
Improving people’s quality of life and achieving society’s high stability requires ensuring a balance between social needs, economic development conditions, and regional environmental capabilities. Given the significant discrepancies in the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan's regions associated with natural potential, population size, and production structure, there is currently no well-developed methodology for assessing the feasibility of the SDGs in a particular region within Kazakhstan. The purpose of the study is to develop a methodology for rating a region’s sustainable development based on existing approaches to assessing the level of sustainable development in a region. The study of leading world research allowed developing the methodology of the National Rating of Sustainable Development of Regions (further – NRSD) and testing its applicability on empirical data of Kazakhstan. The obtained conclusions based on the assessment of economic and sustainable development of regions allowed the substantiation of the inclusion of ecological, social, and economic indicators as criteria of NRSD. Here is provided dataset used for NRSD model described in the article
