The value of the albumin-myosteatosis gauge in predicting the postoperative outcomes of Non-metastatic gastric cancer
Description
This retrospective study enrolled patients with GC who underwent subtotal or total gastrectomy at the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, XXX Hospital , China, between December 2014 and December 2019. The following criteria apply: (1) patients who underwent a preoperative abdominal CT scan and a serological examination within 2 weeks before surgery, and (2) patients willing to participate in the study and provide informed consent. The experimental flow chart is shown in Figure S1. According to the inclusion criteria, data relating to 1,188 patients was collected. The study was approved by the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University's Institutional Review Board. Patient Characteristics Data on patient characteristics were obtained from a review of electronic medical records (EMRs) and included the following: - Demographic information, such as gender, age, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade, Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) and Body mass index (BMI) - Tumour characteristics, such as location, size, and histological grade - Hematology tests,such as serum albumin levels - long-term overall survival (any causes of deaths), postoperative complications and readmission within one month after surgery (the postoperative outcomes aspect).
