Description

Shallow-water carbonates were collected in 2017 in the Karatau Mountains, southern Kazakhstan from the Carboniferous succession at Ushozen. Sediments were dissolved to separate and remove terrigenous fractions. Neodymium and samarium were isolated using column chromatography and analyzed by multi-collector mass spectrometer (TIMS). The data span three shallowing-upward cycles in the Serpukhovian of the Ushozen section, which were deposited during interglacial periods.
