Description

Data for 4 B2B Exhibitions in Portugal. A survey was sent to a total of 24 529 visitors between these 4 exhibitions, from which it had 1771 complete answers (7,22% response rate). This study investigates the gap between the sustainability intentions and actions of visitors, in B2B exhibitions, with specific emphasis on four exhibitions in Portugal. The research employs a mixed-methods approach. The qualitative component explores literature on the subject, allowing more insights on the importance of sustainability in B2B exhibitions, its challenges and gaps. The quantitative analysis includes data on what are visitor’s intentions regarding sustainability and what they are really willing to do to fulfil those intentions. Surveys were distributed to attendees of four trade fairs, each representing distinct industry sectors: Paper & Gift (PaperGift), Cosmetics & Beauty (Expocosmética), Education (Qualifica) and Metal-Mechanics & Industry (360 Tech Industry). All four events took place during the first semester of 2026 at Exponor in Porto.
