Description
The brain tumor dataset can be reclassified into three broader categories to simplify the classification task and reflect clinical or biological relevance. The first category, Glioma Tumor, includes only gliomas, which are aggressive intra-axial tumors originating from glial cells within the brain tissue. These tumors often require intensive treatment and careful monitoring. The second category, Pituitary Tumor, comprises only pituitary tumors, which arise from the pituitary gland located at the base of the brain. These are generally benign and have distinct clinical symptoms related to hormonal imbalance. The third category, Non-Tumor, developing from the meninges—with the No Tumor class, representing healthy brain scans. This grouping is intended to consolidate less aggressive or non-tumor cases, making the classification more practical for medical diagnosis and computational modeling.
