The dataset population consists of SMEs in Malaysia. A total of 134 respondents responded through an online survey.

Steps to reproduce
SMEs all over Malaysia have participated in this survey. Business owners and company managers are considered the highest-ranking managers to represent the management in making decisions about the use of social media. They are also responsible for the company's use of social media in business. Three hundred questionnaires were distributed online, and 134 usable questionnaires were returned for analysis.
