Ultrasound Measurements from Physical Phantoms for NDT layer thickness estimation
Description
Ultrasonic measurements of two physical phantoms tested, scanned by a scanning acoustic microscope equipped with a 5MHz, flat, 0.5 inch diameter transducer. Phantom 1 (phantom1_5MHz_Focus_N01_Glue_Interface.hdf) is composed of two disks (a type of machinable polymer) attached by an adhesive layer. The top Ultem disk is flat and the other has inner circular steps of 0.1mm in height. The two disks are attached with adhesive, forming an adhesive layer of thickness ranging from 0.1mm to 0.5mm at intervals of 0.1 mm, according to the steps in the lower Ultem disk. Phantom 2 (phantom2_5MHz_F1inc_D0p25_sn_D5628_pn13_0504_s.hdf) is a thin 8-step Aluminum calibration block, with thickness ranging from 0.03 inch to 0.1 inch at intervals of 0.01 inch.
