Description

This dataset contains de-identified survey and academic assessment data collected from undergraduate nursing students for a study on self-perception of medication-safety. The dataset includes participant characteristics, academic year, sex, frequency of learning and drug-dose calculation scores, clinical pharmacology scores, nursing theory scores, nursing practice scores, and medication-safety self-perception scores. The dataset was used to examine descriptive characteristics, differences in scores between participant groups, correlations among study variables, and factors associated with medication-safety self-perception. The accompanying files include the de-identified dataset, a data dictionary/codebook describing the variables and coding scheme, and SPSS syntax used for data preparation and statistical analyses. Direct personal identifiers have been removed from the dataset. The data were collected for academic research purposes and should be interpreted together with the related manuscript. Access, use, and redistribution are subject to the selected license and applicable ethical and institutional requirements.

Descriptive statistics were used to summarize participant characteristics and study variables. Independent-samples t-tests or Mann–Whitney U tests were used to compare scores between two independent groups, depending on the distribution and variance assumptions. Spearman’s rank-order correlations were used to examine associations between study variables. Multiple linear regression was used to identify factors associated with medication-safety self-perception scores. The accompanying codebook describes the variables, coding scheme, and missing-value codes, while the SPSS syntax provides the commands used for data preparation and analysis.
