Impact of Gadgets on Elementary Students' Learning: A Systematic Literature Review

The gadgets integration into education has grown excessively which raising questions about its impact to the students’ learning to the younger learners. This systematic literature reviews the examines studies that was published between 2010 and 2024, that explore both benefits and drawbacks of gadget use in the elementary education. Positive impacts include improved engagement and personalized learning experiences through interactive educational applications. However, findings also indicate potential drawbacks, such as reduced attention span, increased distraction, and challenges to physical and social development due to prolonged screen time. This review highlights the importance of moderation and structured integration of gadgets within the classroom to maximize educational benefits while minimizing potential downsides. Recommendations for future research include longitudinal studies to explore the long-term effects of gadget use on academic and developmental outcomes in children.
