Psychological Pathways to Gold Investment Decisions in India
Description
This study presents survey data examining the psychological pathways underlying gold investment decisions among Indian retail investors. Data were collected from 617 investors, primarily from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, using a structured questionnaire and purposive sampling. The dataset captures measures of herd behaviour, fear of missing out (FOMO), subjective expected pleasure (SEP), and gold investment decision. Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed to examine direct and sequential mediation relationships among the constructs. The dataset provides empirical evidence for investigating how social influence, emotional responses, and anticipated pleasure interact in shaping gold investment behaviour in India.
