Supplementary Tables S1 and S2 for "Decoding Biological Drug Names in Dermatology: The Post-2022 WHO Nomenclature Revision and Its Implications for Clinical Practice"

This dataset contains the two supplementary tables that accompany the manuscript "Decoding Biological Drug Names in Dermatology: The Post-2022 WHO Nomenclature Revision and Its Implications for Clinical Practice" (reference JAAD-D-26-01729R1), accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Supplementary Table S1 lists look-alike and sound-alike biological agents that are relevant to dermatology, and for each pair it records the agents and their molecular targets, the dermatologic relevance of the pair, the source of the confusion, and its reported clinical consequence, so that prescribers can identify the name pairs that carry the greatest risk of error. Supplementary Table S2 compares biosimilar naming and substitution across three regulatory jurisdictions, namely, the United States, the European Union, and India, and for each jurisdiction, it sets out the construction of the nonproprietary name, the treatment of interchangeability, the rules governing pharmacy-level substitution, the identifiers used for pharmacovigilance tracking, and the resulting implication for the dermatologist. Both tables are supplied as Microsoft Word files. Neither table contains patient-level or otherwise identifiable information, because both were compiled from published regulatory, pharmacopoeial, and pharmacovigilance sources that are cited within the manuscript.
