Description

Two different databases of those tested for COVID-19 in the Mexican population until December 24, 2020, are included. Both databases include age and gender. BMSA Group provided one, while the other comes from the open official data from the Ministry of Health of Mexico. Through comparison and analysis of age and gender distributions, we found that the result of the COVID-19 test is weakly related to such features. We interpret said dependence between those variables as dependence in vulnerability to SARS-CoV-2 infection. The positive test rate shows that the males as the most vulnerable gender and the population aged between 70 and 79 years old is the age group with the higher vulnerability (no matter the gender).
