A time-limiting step of robotic-assisted sacrocolpopexy is vaginal mesh attachment. Our hypothesis was that delayed absorbable unidirectional barbed suture would decrease mesh attachment time compared to interrupted non-barbed suture. Barbed suture during sacrocolpopexy decreased mesh attachment time compared to non-barbed suture in inexperienced surgeons, without compromising surgeon satisfaction and with similar 6 month patient-centered outcomes.
