Description

These data support the evaluation of temporal inhomogeneities and associated biases in annual and seasonal precipitation trends from four high-resolution gridded precipitation products across the eastern and central United States (ECUS) during 1980–2024. The evaluated products are Daymet, nClimGrid, PRISM AN (All Networks), and PRISM LT (Long Term). The files provided are listed below. 1. Gauges1683_1980-2024.xlsx: Monthly precipitation totals for the initial set of 1,683 long-term COOP gauges used during the regionalization process (1980–2024) 2. Gauges1271_1980-2024.xlsx: Monthly precipitation totals for the final set of 1,271 spatially dispersed COOP gauges used as the reference networks (1980–2024) 3. PrecipitationTotals_Reference.xlsx: Regional annual and seasonal precipitation totals derived from the 1,271 reference gauges 4. PrecipitationTotals_Daymet.xlsx: Regional annual and seasonal precipitation totals extracted from the Daymet gridded precipitation product 5.
