Description

This study investigates how religious activities affect corporate productivities, employing China’s 2018 revision of the Regulations on Religious Affairs as a quasi-natural experiment. Using panel data on Chinese A-share listed firms (2007–2024) and a difference-in-differences (DID) framework, we find that restricting religious activities in the workplace increases firm productivity.
