Description

A semi-structured questionnaire was self-administered by 120 agricultural extension officers. Since all extension officers are literate and have previously experienced mobile data collection, it was ideal to use self-administered questionnaires thereby adhering to the COVID-19 regulations which restrict movements and close contact. The tool collected information including socio-demographic characteristics, use of smart phones in data collection and ODK training, mobile functionality, data collection, monitoring and challenges faced during data collection. A key informant guide was used to collect data which include successes and challenges confronted during collection, attitudes of crop and livestock specialist on the use of mobile ODK and suggestions to improve data collection, storage and analysis.
