Global coastal aquaculture pond (CAP) dataset (1990–2020)

Description

This dataset contains the spatial distribution of global coastal aquaculture ponds (CAPs) within the 50 km coastal buffer zone for 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2020. CAPs were mapped from historical satellite images using classification and manual validation methods. All geospatial data are stored as GeoTIFFs. Quality assessment was performed with independent validation samples. This dataset can support research on coastal aquaculture dynamics and sustainable coastal development related to SDG 2 and SDG 14. CC BY 4.0 license.
