Description

This dataset supports the study Primitive featureless background asteroids in the outer main belt. It contains the machine-readable catalogues, uncertainty products, provenance records and reproduction code used to construct and analyse the photometric sample discussed in the associated manuscript. The release includes the 31,531-object SDSS-based photometric catalogue, the 41,955 accepted individual SDSS observations, spectral-slope measurements and uncertainties, covariance products, repeated-observation diagnostics, proper-element and family assignments, V-shape geometry and selection diagnostics, visible geometric albedos and their provenance, spectroscopic and taxonomic comparison products, threshold-sensitivity analyses, and the updated Gaia comparison. The catalogue contains explicit flags identifying the outer-belt sample, the operational photometric candidate sample and the physical subsamples used in the analysis. The term “featureless candidate” is used operationally and does not imply spectroscopic confirmation of the absence of absorption bands or a mineralogical classification. Likewise, geometric compatibility with a family V-shape is recorded as a selection diagnostic and does not by itself establish dynamical family membership. The package also contains the local inputs, saved outputs and Python scripts used for the uncertainty corrections and sensitivity analyses reported in the manuscript. The supplied results can be inspected directly without rerunning the analyses. The archive does not reproduce the upstream SDSS, Gaia or thermal-survey reductions and does not relicense third-party survey or catalogue products. Users should consult README_DATASET.md, documentation/DATA_GUIDE.md, documentation/COLUMN_DICTIONARY_EN.csv, documentation/SCIENTIFIC_SCOPE.md and documentation/REPRODUCTION_GUIDE.md before interpreting or reproducing the derived products.
