Description

Summary dataset (in Matlab table format) and analysis codes (Matlab .m files) for Grieves, Shinder, Rosow, Kenna, and Taube (2022) The Neural Correlates of Spatial Disorientation in Head Direction Cells, eNeuro, https://doi.org/10.1523/ENEURO.0174-22.2022. The methods used to collect the data can be found in the paper. Spike and LFP data are provided in a summarized format in the 'sdata.mat' file. Each row of this file represents a trial. All 3 experiments are listed in this table and the number of trials differed between experiments and between animals within experiments. Some trials were also excluded from directional analyses due to tracking artefacts. See DIS_readme.m. The inversion data used from Shinder and Taube (2019) "Three-dimensional tuning of head direction cells in rats" is provided in the 'idata.mat' Matlab table. Each row of this file also represents a trial. See DIS_readme.m. The script 'disoritest.m' performs three functions, first it can regenerate the sdata and idata tables using the included raw data, second it can run through every row of these tables and analyse the data/add information to the table, third, it can produce the main figures used in the paper given these tables. See the 'DIS_readme.m' file for an explanation of all the Matlab table contents.
