CAPL-2 Colombia: Reproducible analysis and reference values for Colombian schoolchildren
Description
This dataset contains the analytical materials and reproducible R Markdown workflow used to estimate reference values for the CAPL-2 Colombia version in Colombian schoolchildren aged 8–12 years. Sex-specific Generalized Additive Models for Location, Scale and Shape (GAMLSS) were fitted for Physical Competence, Daily Behaviour, Motivation and Confidence, Knowledge and Understanding, and the CAPL-2 total score. The workflow includes model selection and diagnostics, normalized quantile residuals, worm plots, estimation of percentiles from P5 to P95, correspondence between official CAPL-2 categories and Colombian percentile distributions, and empirical percentiles for selected physical indicators. The materials are provided to support transparency, methodological verification and reproducibility of the doctoral research

Steps to reproduce
Download the analytical dataset and the R Markdown file and place both files in the same working directory. Open CAPL2_Colombia_valores_referencia_reproducible_v2.Rmd in RStudio and verify that the input file parameter in the YAML header matches the analytical dataset included in this repository. Install the required R packages if necessary: readxl, dplyr, tidyr, tibble, purrr, gamlss, gamlss.dist, capl, and knitr. Run the document using Knit → Knit to HTML. The workflow verifies the analytical sample, fits the definitive sex-specific GAMLSS models, evaluates model fit using GAIC and SBC, examines normalized quantile residuals and worm plots, and estimates reference percentiles from P5 to P95. Physical Competence was modeled using BCCG in boys and girls; Daily Behaviour using BCPE in boys and NO in girls; Motivation and Confidence using BCPE in both sexes; Knowledge and Understanding using BEINF in both sexes; and the CAPL-2 total score using BCCG in both sexes. Age is incorporated as a continuous smoothed predictor. Region is included in the models, and school grade is additionally included for Knowledge and Understanding. The workflow also reproduces the correspondence between official CAPL-2 classification thresholds and Colombian percentile distributions, as well as empirical percentiles for PACER, plank, CAMSA and average daily steps. The final section reports sessionInfo() for software reproducibility.
