High-resolution low energy electron diffraction and -microscopy as well as scanning tunneling microscopy data indicating the successful synthesis of an Ir(111)/borophene/2D-hexagonal boron nitride heterostructure. This set proves the expected stacking sequence is actually valid and proves the formation of the heterostructure, covering the entire substrate.
