This is documentation that serves as educational material and illustration of the episode of the bird flu (HPAI) type A bird flu epidemic in the 2023 breeding season in the lower Oder Valley in Poland. The repository also contains educational videos showing the behavior of birds infected with avian influenza A. VID_20230528_180837.mp4 - Common Tern (Sternula hirundo) floating in the water in an unnatural pose indicating HPAI infection. VID_20230530_114222.mp4 - Black-headed Gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) infected with HPAI virus with symptoms such as squinted eyes and difficulty breathing. VID_20230528_182052 - Common Tern (Sterna hirundo) - unnatural behavior swimming on water with spread wings. This is an integral part of the article titled: "Marchowski et al. 2024.
