Description

Bulk atmospheric deposition collected weekly for 9 years, March 2011 - March 2020, based in Hanover, NH, USA. Samples are collected in 650 cm^2 polyethylene buckets at 40 cm height above ground. Collectors are weighed to determine precipitation total [cm]. Samples are acidified to 2% HCl within the collector, and then vacuum filtered with tared 0.5 um quartz fiber filters. Insoluble mass deposition [mg m-2] is determined by gravimetry. Fallout radionuclides (FRNs) beryllium-7 and lead-210 are measured by gamma spectrometry [Bq m-2] following pre-concentration by MnO2 co-precipitation, with stable Be and Pb added as yield monitors. Major- and trace-elements (MTEs) are measured by ICPOES (Thermo Iris Intrepid II, and Spectro Arcos) [mg m-2], and total Hg by ICPMS (Agilent 7700) [ug m-2].
