This dataset underpins the Africa Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Index (AEEI), which benchmarks the strength of national entrepreneurial ecosystems. It combines seven key ecosystem dimensions: Governance, Culture, Support, Finance, Infrastructure, Market Access, and Human Capital to produce a single composite index and ranking of African countries. The data come from trusted international and regional sources (such as the World Bank, WIPO, ITU, and UNESCO) and from checked local datasets. All indicators were normalised to a 0–1 scale, where higher numbers mean a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem. The final AEEI score is the sum of the seven dimension scores, or about seven times their average.
