Characteristics of Mixed Shrub and Coffee Waste Biopellets
Description
This dataset presents the physicochemical, mineral, thermal, and combustion characteristics of bio-pellets manufactured from a mixture of two shrub species, Gliricidia sepium (Gamal) and Leucaena leucocephala (Lamtoro), blended with coffee husk (Coffea sp.) waste. Bio-pellets were produced from six Gamal:Lamtoro:Coffee-husk (G:L:C) weight ratios (1:1:0, 1:0:1, 0:1:1, 1:1:2, 1:2:1, and 2:1:1), with molding temperature (180 °C and 225 °C) and molding duration (3 min and 5 min) varied factorially. For each of the resulting treatment combinations, the dataset reports raw and mean ± standard deviation values for proximate composition (density, moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, and fixed carbon content), mineral content (sulfur, Na2O, K2O, and Cl), gross calorific value, stage-wise combustion mass loss and combustion rate, water uptake and dimensional (longitudinal, transversal, and volumetric) swelling, and high-resolution thermogravimetric/differential scanning calorimetry (TGA/DSC) scans for the best-performing composition, together with the corresponding two-way ANOVA outputs evaluating the effects of composition, molding treatment, and their interaction on each measured property.
