Public Education Expenditure and Economic Outcome in Indian Higher Education (2013–2022)
Description
This is a dataset for the study on impact of public education expenditure on higher education programs in India and its subsequent impact on economic outcome. This dataset consists data related to four variables: public higher education expenditure, enrollment rates in different programs of higher education in India, output rates in different programs of higher education in India and GDP per capita. All the data are related to the study period 2013 to 2022. This dataset is a compilation of the data collected from the official websites of Ministry of Education, Government of India, All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) and Reserve Bank of India (RBI). All the data are publicly accessible.

Steps to reproduce
The data on enrollment and output rates are in actual numbers. The data on education expenditure are in thousands of Rupees. The data on GDP per capita is in terms of actual Rupees. Initially, the original data were recorded in an excel sheet. Then, the outliers of the data were identified and rectified using Winsorizing method. Then the clean data are converted to standard Z-scores using JASP software application. All the further analyses were conducted based on the standardized Z-score values only.
