The leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) receptor is involved in various cellular processes, including gastrointestinal cancer growth and invasiveness. Secondary bile acids such as DCA, LCA and its derivatives were found to inhibit LIF/LIFR complex formation, and STAT3 phosphorylation.
