Description

The dataset presents foliar δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N for Brazilian C₃ vegetation, but also . The dataset comprised approximately 6,440 tree leaf samples organized into 188 georeferenced clusters (1-km radius) distributed across major Brazilian biomes. Climatic, edaphic, and vegetation-related covariates were evaluated to identify the primary environmental controls on isotopic variability. Modeled δ¹³C values were used to derive a national-scale Δ¹³C (atmosphere–leaf) isoscape, providing a spatially explicit representation of carbon isotope discrimination. The resulting isoscapes exhibit large-scale spatial gradients consistent with ecophysiological expectations and provide the first observation-based Δ¹³C framework for Brazil.
