Description

This dataset contains the numerical data used in the manuscript “Long-term deformation of the Heisei-Shinzan lava dome revealed by integrated GBSAR, EDM, and DEM analysis.” The files provide the processed displacement time series and the values underlying Tables 1–3 in the paper. Table 1 (Table1.csv): Cumulative LOS and slope-parallel displacements, terrain aspects, and the proportion of steep slopes (> 40°) for all GBSAR and EDM observation points. Table 2 (Table2.csv): Temporal variation of Pearson correlation coefficients between cumulative displacement time series derived from GBSAR and EDM measurements at corresponding sites. Correlations are calculated annually from 2013 to 2025; high values (r > 0.7) indicate consistent displacement trends between the two methods, whereas lower values may reflect geometric effects or localized deformation. Table 3 (Table3.csv): Volumetric change by interval at the Heisei-Shinzan lava dome. Time intervals are listed as end–start year. The level of detection was applied to Δz prior to aggregation. “Erosion” and “Deposition” are absolute volumes of negative and positive Δz (m³) after LoD masking, and “Net change” is calculated as Deposition – Erosion. GBSAR_displacement.csv / EDM_displacement.csv: GBSAR and EDM Cumulative LOS displacement time series used to derive the above tables and figures. These datasets provide the numerical basis needed to reproduce the deformation analysis, tables, and interpretations presented in the article.

Steps to reproduce

This dataset includes the processed numerical data used to construct Tables 1–3 in the associated manuscript on long-term deformation of the Heisei-Shinzan lava dome. The data summarize cumulative displacements derived from GBSAR and dual-station EDM monitoring, annual correlation analyses, and DEM-based volumetric changes. Each file corresponds to the values plotted or tabulated in the paper. GBSAR and EDM cumulative displacements were extracted from long-term time series (2013–2025) after standard preprocessing, including coordinate unification, sign convention harmonization, and LOS projection following the procedures described in the manuscript. Terrain aspect values were obtained from a 1 m-resolution DEM at each observation site. The proportion of steep slopes (>40°) was computed within a fixed-radius window around each point. Annual Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated between cumulative GBSAR and EDM displacement curves at corresponding locations. Correlations were computed year-by-year using all available observations within each annual interval. Volumetric changes were calculated from DEMs (2016, 2019, 2024) using DEM differencing with the level of detection (LoD) method described in the paper. Δz grids were masked using LoD thresholds prior to aggregating erosion, deposition, and net change. All CSV files contain the final processed numerical values used directly in the published tables. No raw proprietary data (e.g., full displacement time series or raw DEMs) are included.
