Description

An intrusion detection dataset for CubeSats, this release provides labeled command-and-telemetry records generated in a software-in-the-loop digital twin using NASA’s Operational Simulator for Small Satellites (NOS3) with the core Flight System (cFS) and the OpenC3 COSMOS v4 ground system; telemetry follows the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) space-packet format with header fields and 20-second window traffic statistics. It includes a class-balanced raw table (25,000 rows, 31 columns) and a robustness-oriented “noised” table (22,465 rows, 23 columns), plus the COSMOS scripts used to reproduce the traffic. Five scenarios are represented: normal operations, command flooding, Global Positioning System data injection, defence impairment via Limit Checker and Checksum manipulation, and storage exhaustion. These scenarios capture effects in packet identifiers, sequence behaviour, message rates, error counters, and memory use. The dataset is designed for spacecraft intrusion and anomaly detection research. All telemetry is simulated; no human or animal data are involved.
