Internal Cell Temperature Estimation Based on EIS Considering SOC and Temperature
Description
This dataset is founded upon electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements of battery cells within a DC - DC cascaded energy storage system. Experiments were carried out under diverse temperatures and states of charge (SOC) to establish the relationship between SOC, temperature, and EIS impedance phase angles. A corresponding mathematical model was deduced, which further facilitates a quantitative correlation between EIS phase angles and both SOC and temperature. This enables the accurate estimation of the internal cell temperature. The results, through analysis, exhibit high precision, rendering them appropriate for internal temperature estimation and battery safety management.

Steps to reproduce
The experiment was conducted on a DC–DC cascaded energy storage system. In this system, currents of various frequencies were injected into the battery pack via the DC–DC converter. By monitoring the real and imaginary components of the cell’s impedance, the impedance phase angle was obtained. Comparative tests were performed under different states of charge (SOC) and temperatures to determine the relationship among the phase angle, SOC, and temperature—enabling an internal cell temperature estimation method. The experimental impedance data were recorded in Excel format.
