Citywide acoustic and contextual data for metro station entrances in Shenyang
Description
This dataset provides station-level and station-hour acoustic environment data for 111 metro station entrance sites in Shenyang, China. It combines 24-hour A-weighted equivalent sound-level measurements, hourly sound-event classifications, population heat-value proxies, station attributes, rounded geographic coordinates and surrounding built-environment indicators. The station-hour panel contains 2,664 rows, covering 24 hourly observations for each site, with hourly LAeq, primary and secondary sound-event labels, day type, population heat values at 20 m and 50 m buffers, station line and station type. Station-level sheets summarise daily, daytime, night-time, peak-period and inter-peak acoustic indicators, sound-source composition, dominant sound events, land-use composition, road-density measures, point-of-interest densities and NDVI greenness at multiple buffer distances. The dataset also includes raw-form hourly tables for LAeq, sound events and population heat values, plus codebooks for station type, land-use variable names and derived noise metrics. Blank cells indicate unavailable observations; in particular, two station keys have no valid hourly LAeq values, while the station universe remains complete. Coordinates are rounded for public release. Together, the tables preserve both the measured hourly series and the derived station-level summaries, allowing users to reproduce temporal summaries, compare locations and link noise outcomes with source composition and urban context. The workbook is intended to support independent analysis of urban rail-transit entrance sound environments, temporal noise burden, sound-source composition and built-environment correlates in a dense Chinese city.
