Dataset on public preferences for transport infrastructure investment across Spanish provinces

Description

This dataset contains processed data, replication code, and derived outputs used to analyse public preferences for transport infrastructure investment across Spanish provinces. The dataset is based on the October 2020 Barometer No. 3296 of the Spanish Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) and transport capital stock records from IVIE/Fundación BBVA. The files include recoded sociodemographic variables, transport investment preference variables, province-level aggregation, Fuzzy TOPSIS indicators, item-exclusion ratios, binary variables for lower investment preference, and scripts for reproducing the main data-processing steps. The dataset supports the analysis of preferences for highways and roads, railways, airports, ports, urban transport, and cycling/walking infrastructure. The material can be reused for research on transport economics, public investment preferences, regional infrastructure planning, territorial disparities, survey-based preference indicators, multicriteria decision-making methods, and multilevel modelling.
