Description

Run 1. rts_6dg.do (cost structure estimation) 2. BC_6dg_new_table.do (main regression results with tables) 3. results_6dg.do (figures and tables). The do-file "rts_6dg.do" needs "naics5811.dta" (available from the NBER website) and "ivset_alter.dta" (set of instrumental variables). See the online appendix for the details of data construction. The do-file "BC_6dg_new_table.do" needs "trade_flow_6dg.dta" that is available from Schott's International Economics Resource Page but you need to merge it. (I will provide "trade_flow_6dg.dta" upon request.) Also, the file needs "gdp_base.dta" which is from Penn World Table 9.0.
