Discussion for Macron's speech and his expression facial

Description

The following is a discussion and analysis of President Macron's speech and facial expressions in a video regarding the situation in Gaza. The video analysed was recorded before the New York Declaration in July 2025. This is because France still only supports Palestine diplomatically, not fully. For the analysis, I use Brown and Levinson (1987) as a politeness theory for Macron's speech. For his expressions, I use Turchet (2009). Basically, this data analyzes the pragmatics and semiotics.

Steps to reproduce

The transcript of the speech in each video is the main thing used before analysing each utterance. The utterances are analysed using a pragmatic approach, more specifically using Brown & Levinson's (1987) politeness strategy. For facial expressions, the expressions used are those before and after the utterance is spoken, not before and after the video. This is in order to obtain maximum and significant results. The analysis uses kinesic theory, Turchet (2009). Although there are other non-verbal movements, facial expressions occupy the main analysis related to utterances.
