Description

This dataset contains processed transcriptomic and miRNA profiling data supporting the study “The Zinc–ZSCAN18 axis prevents mycotoxin-induced nephrotoxicity by preserving genomic stability and perimitochondrial homeostasis”. The dataset includes processed mRNA expression tables, differential expression results, directional gene-set intersection outputs, selected Gene Ontology enrichment results, known miRNA expression and differential analysis outputs, predicted miRNA target results, and R scripts used to generate the transcriptomic and miRNA-related figures. The experimental design included four in vitro conditions with three biological replicates per group: WT/OTA, WT/OTA+Zn, ZSCAN18-KO/OTA, and ZSCAN18-KO/OTA+Zn. Processed mRNA expression values are provided as FPKM-based matrices and transformed values used for visualization. Differentially expressed genes were defined using FDR < 0.05 and |log2FC| ≥ 0.5. Directional intersection analysis was used to define the ZSCAN18-dependent protective gene program and the ZSCAN18-loss injury/stress gene program. Processed miRNA results include known miRNA expression profiles, recurrently altered miRNAs, and predicted target information. These processed datasets and scripts support the reproduction of the transcriptomic and miRNA analyses presented in Figure 9 and Supplementary Figure S5, including PCA, volcano plots, GO enrichment visualization, directional gene-set intersection analysis, heatmaps, DEG directionality summaries, and HSPA9/GRP75 expression analysis. Raw sequencing reads are not included because the original raw archival files are no longer available. The available processed data enable reproduction of the figures and supplementary tables derived from the mRNA and miRNA analyses.
