Description

Uruk et al. demonstrate that the brain inflammatory response causes neurite (axon and dendrite) degeneration by a mechanism involving NOX2-induced cofilactin rod (CAR) formation. Neurites are more vulnerable to Inflammation-induced injury than neuronal cell bodies, and neurite loss in the absence of neuronal cell body loss is associated with functional impairment.
