Description

The dataset provides information on points of occurrence of Peltogyne gracilipes (a endemic tree species; Leguminosae) in an area of ~ 450,000 ha, with the geographic center of Maracá Island and its surroundings, State of Roraima, northern Brazilian Amazon (https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/2j354jtddx/2; https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/ctv52cbkp8/2). The points of occurrence of P. gracilipes (135 points) were collected with GPS, indicating the areas of presence / absence of the species. Fieldworks were carried out in the eastern and central areas of Maracá Island (12/14/2018 and 27-28/02/2019), and close to the Vila Trairão (12/17/2018) and Vila Paredão (28 / 01/2019). All of them are natural forest areas where P. gracilipes occurs. The dataset consists of four files: (i) study_site - a figure indicating the location of the study area; (ii) occurrence_p-gracilipes_maracá - geographic location (lat / long - WGS84 - UTM - 20N) of the points of occurrence of P. gracilipes on Maracá Island; (iii) occurrence_p-gracilipes_paredão - geographical location (lat / long - WGS84 - UTM - 20N) of the points of occurrence of P. gracilipes in Vila Paredão; (iv) occurrence_p-gracilipes_trairão - geographical location (lat / long - WGS84 - UTM - 20N) of the points of occurrence of P. gracilipes in Vila Trairão. The current dataset was supported by the projects (i) SavFloRR - Ecologia e manejo dos recursos naturais de ecossistemas de savanas e florestas de Roraima (PPI INPA 015/122), and (ii) Crescimento e mortalidade de árvores em florestas ecotonais de Roraima: efeito das condicionantes ambientais e da variabilidade climática (Proc. CNPq n. 403591 / 2016-3). The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) supported E.H.S. The PELD Program provide a scholarship to W.R.S. (CNPq / CAPES / FAPs / BC-Fundo Newton; Proc. N. 441575 / 2016-1). The National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) provided a grant to R.I. Barbosa (CNPq 304204 / 2015-3). The Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) authorized the study (SISBIO nº 52071).
