Description

This repository contains the analysis code, cohort-level aggregate results, meta-analytic outputs, publication figures, and supporting documentation for a longitudinal study of observed pain remission and subsequent functional limitation across CHARLS, ELSA, HRS, KLoSA, MHAS, and SHARE. The study compared currently pain-free and functionally independent adults with observed pain remission versus persistent pain freedom using a first-eligible three-wave design. The materials support verification of the risk-set construction, primary and secondary analyses, multiple imputation, sensitivity analyses, weighting diagnostics, and random-effects meta-analysis. No participant-level data or personal identifiers are included. Source data must be obtained directly from the Gateway to Global Aging Data and the respective parent cohort repositories, subject to registration and applicable data-use agreements. This archive is intended to improve transparency and reproducibility without redistributing restricted third-party data.
