Steps to reproduce
This study recruited 1,077 undergraduate students in China through convenience sampling between February 5, 2025, and April 2, 2025. Electronic questionnaires administered via the Wenjuanxing platform and supplementary paper-based surveys yielded 980 valid responses after excluding incomplete/inconsistent entries (validity rate of 91%). Participants were stratified by academic year: 24% first-year, 27% second-year, 27% third-year, and 22% fourth-year or above. In terms of gender distribution, 53% of the participants were male and 47% were female. Informed consent was obtained through mandatory checkbox confirmation on the questionnaire's first page, which detailed research objectives and data anonymization protocols. No minors participated in the study. This study employed SPSS 26.0 statistical software, along with Hayes' PROCESS macro for SPSS and Amos 26.0, to perform the following analyses: reliability and validity tests, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, as well as chain mediation and moderation effect analyses. Note: In this dataset, variables B, C, D, E, and F correspond to EEP, PER, PBC, GCI, and PES respectively.
